Good stuff to know when deciding what vanpool vehicle to use for your commute.

SafetyVan Xpress is a Vanpool operator, headquartered in Virginia that supplies high end Chevrolet Vanpools and directly addresses the three fundamental components of vanpooling:

Number One: Comfort

As the leader in comfortable vanpooling, our Vanpools feature individual mid-hi back coach style seating with integrated lap and shoulder belts in a variety of widths and the added comfort of headrest and seatback recliners in the first 3 rows. Note: the addition of Monroe gas charged rear shock absorbers adds a stability ingredient that significantly enhances your ride experience.

Number Two: Safety

Simply the safest van there is. The SafetyVan advantage includes the two primary focuses of GM as well as the additional safety enhancements provided by the SafetyVan conversion:

Crash Avoidance (GM)
Stabilitrak (R) Traction Control - Designed to monitor numerous factors, such as steering angle, and automatically intervene when the system senses the vehicle is not adequately responding to driver input.
ABS Brakes - 4 wheel antilock, 4-wheel disc
Day Time Running Headlamps, dual composite halogen
Tire Pressure Monitoring System - If a tire is over or under inflated, the system will notify the driver.
Side-View Convex Mirrors - Offer drivers a better rear field of view.

Crash Protection (GM)
Head Curtain Side Air Bags - GM segment-exclusive standard head-curtain side air bags (Standard since 2008) help reduce the risk of injury to outboard occupants in certain types of side collisions and rollovers.
Air bags - frontal
Steel Safety Cage - Reinforcing the floor, body sills, and roof pillars, the safety cage surrounds and protects the entire passenger compartment.
Enhanced Technology Glass - Rear-most side windows; 3-layer glass is designed to help reduce the risk of occupant ejection during an accident.

SafetyVan Conversion
Roof Protection: Specially designed, fiberglass roof reinforcement (Meets FMVSS 220 requirements for school buses)
Integrated Lap and Shoulder Belts: Ergonomically designed individual 3-Point belt system
Individual mid- hi back coach style seating (Exceeds FMVSS 207 and 210 requirement) They're very comfortable!
Structural Steel Floor Passenger Protection System: Provides the foundation and the floor and body reinforcement necessary to make the SafetyVan your safest vanpool experience.

Our safety claims for the SafetyVan are entirely predicated on using the GM 155" WB chassis platform. What does this mean? The longer wheelbase supports almost all of the (passenger) weight on or between the axles (with no exaggerated rear overhang.) As a result, SafetyVan provides the best weight distribution in its class.

You can get an idea of just how important this is by going to the SafetyVans web site www.safetyvans.com - Click on (See why we chose GM Vans) This will take you to: http://www.gmfleet.com/vans/index.jsp. Once there, select the tab: Van Safety and scroll down and click on: Watch our Van Safety video >>

Number Three: Reliability

We offer new Chevrolet 155" WB extended body passenger vans that are 100% GM serviceable (no aftermarket rear HVAC etc.) and featuring the GM exclusive 5 year or 100,000 mile Drive train warranty. Note: Each vanpool features the Wright Express Credit Card which provides you access to fuel, maintenance and road side assistance all in one place.
